Books Matter: The National Book Award Winners Blog

I have been riveted to the National Book Award Ficton Winners blog for the last few days. Each day the blog chronologically highlights fiction winners starting from 1950. The blog is written by members of the literary fiction world who share their experiences with these books. Each entry also notes historical tidbits about the author, the surrounding literary sense, and other historical factoids. It also lists where you can purchase the book and of course a place for comments.

It's fascinating to think about the historical context that surrounds these books and to think about why some of them are classics and some of them are out of print.
